Two new vids have been added since the last update. First one is my second Sweet Charity vid from last auction, an off the book win (through direct donation instead of auction), an AU BUffy/Tara vid based on a fic by Talula. You'll find it in the BtVS section. Second one is a Supernatural vidlet, for the episode 2x17 'Heart', Dean PoV but really a Sam vid at heart, I guess.

I'm planning to change the layout within the next month, and I'll be closing the art section - I've moved everything to Private Riot, with a lot more content. This place will remain for vids and fanfiction (a section which needs to be updated so badly).(Icon Credit)

A new vid, new fandom. Supernatural vid, John Winchester POV (also known as Papa Winchester) set to 'Invisible Hands' by Joseph Arthur.

It's been a while, but I really don't have much to say, just check my lj. I have a lot of links, art and awards to add, but I just don't have the time for it at the moment.(Icon Credit)

A remastered version of 'Silence' is up in the Buffy section. I say remaster here, but it's really a whole new version of the vid. All that's left of the original is a few clip placement, the song and the concept. The vid was over two years old, and frankly I didn't know much about vidding back then, but I always loved the concept, hence the remastering.

I have to say though, that this vid was not on my to-do list. Aimée suggested a remastering contest, because it seemed everyone was into remastering their vids, and over the last two years I'd given remastering that particular vid a lot of thought (even tried it about four times), but it just wouldn't work, so I think I'd given up on the idea. But then, with Aimée's idea came creeping back the thought of remastering Silence, so I just did, and I'm quite happy I did. Hopefully, you guys will enjoy it as well.

Speaking of the to-do list... It is quite long. I'm gonna be back in school starting next tuesday, so the free time will be reduced quite a bit. Mostly, it's all Sweet Charity stuff. Two vids (Supernatural, BtVS), one fic (Doctor Who goodness). After that, I'm looking at a backlog of vids that need to be done (movies, mostly, and one quite urging Veronica Mars one - it'll get done, I swear Katie!) (Icon Credit)

First of all, you'll notice the new layout. Featuring Doctor Who's very own Billie Piper.

Second of all, I'm taking a cue from the very lovely and very wise Charmax here and taking down (or at least, restricting access to) some of my vids. I'm not sure if it's permanent, or not, but it's an idea I'd been toying with for a long while (pretty much, ever since my one year vidding hiatus started, which would take us to March 2005).

This mostly affects Charmed vids, and you will find that there is only one left in that section, simply because I don't think any of the rest I felt any sense of pride about anymore. For the most part, they were clips stuck together in an editing program when I wasn't quite sure what I was doing and wasn't even aware of this being done outside the board I was posting them on, about four years ago, almost five.

I might put them online, password protected like Charmax (which seems highly likely), or simply in a seperate section with an alternate layout and whatnot, I'm not sure. I might not put them online and simply keep a list and allow people to contact me for them too. At this point, I don't know. It was a bit compulsive, and I'm not sure how I'll go about it for the rest.

Apart from the Charmed vids, I've taken down quite a few Buffy vids, including 'Karma', 'Breaking Promises' and some episodics, as well as every Angel episodics. 'Miles to Go' almost went in the dumpster, but since I've given remastering it some thoughts, I'm keeping it online for now. It's also the first vid I've ever won an award and gotten great feedback with, so I do have a soft spot for it.

Right...So, a first for me...pimping a show on here, especially one I've never personally watched, but since I've been directly emailed about it, and want to stay on good terms with the folks who make good tv (FOX), I'll just go ahead and do it.

One New Videoup, in the BtVS. It's an episodic (on the short side) for the season 3 episode 'Consequences'. It's a submission for Katie's new project *points down*:

Sweet Charity is now over, and I want to thank the two people who donated money to charity in exchange for a piece by me: your offers were immensely generous and I will work hard to offer you quality stuff in exchange.
In other news... not much really, except that the Reclaiming YouTube experiment mentionned in the previous post is a success! I'm getting good feedback, good ratings, saved as favorites many many times, especialy for the Doctor Who vid 'Through Glass' - I apparently hit a chord with that one. Currently working on something for Katie's SVP project (BtvS), a Veronica Mars video (LoVe) and a movie one, but I also have two high priority vids, one being a AU Shipper BtVS vid (I won't reveal too much from it, but let's just say I'm fairly certain it's a pairing that's never been done in vid) and one Supernatural one. A BBC Casanova series one was also in the works, but the project file got corrupted, so it's either a drop or a start over (probably a start over, if I *ever* get the time).

Don't panic if you see any of my vids on YouTube under the name Dispiacere, I've uploaded some as part of a 'reclaiming YouTube' feat I'm currently going with. Oh, and don't attack a girl Arisma - she's got Counting Bodies uploaded, but I've made a deal with her that she could keep it over there if she gave me full credit (I was nice because she never claimed it as hers from the start).

Also, I'll just take this opportunity to go and remind you guys about the still ungoing Sweet Charity auction, which runs until the 31st. All profits going to charity, not a penny to anyone else.

I've been feeling weird... think I watched too many people being guillotined today during my French Revolution class.

Working on a few vids, including some Buffy, some Veronica Mars, a BBC Casanova series one, and a movie one - but I just wanted to come in here and post about clip theft. Clip theft is definitely on a high, with the venue of YouTube, making it easier for people to upload their own music videos. Sadly, I must say that most of those creations are crap. Yeah, sort of cold, I know, but it's true. Vidding goes beyond putting clips together with the latest hit. It has a lot to do with lyrical interpretation, motion, storytelling. And sadly, people who don't know what the hell they are doing just upload crap on YouTube, which would still be fine if they used their own clips to create those music videos, but no, they also steal clips from other vidders. My dear hostee Aim?e even had to take some of her vids offline because they weren't watermarked and people stole from them like you wouldn't believe.

Some people even had the nerve to take some of Martoufmarty's vids, stuck an ugly Enrique Iglesias song on top of it, without any edits of any kind (even leaving the original credits in), and uploaded it as their own creation. It's nauseating to think that something that took so much work to create gets just degraded like that. Zohar's 'Watcha Waitin' For' also got shamefully cut to pieces and rearranged over another music (still the same clips and effects, with her very distinctive watermark), and uploaded as someone else's. I once had someone submit a video to my own award site that was to the same music as one of mine, basically my own vid for the 30 first second (my codec was wonky and left an imprint on my clips that you just can't miss - plus, it was literally the same, speed, fades, effects, cuts: the same) and the rest was just bits of other vids of mine mixed up. On my own awards sites. I mean, yeah, some people are stupid, but that's just...moronic.

Vidders who get their clips from the original source obviously don't own the clips. But editing is work, and the editing work we have done on the source is ours. Taking those cuts, effects and claiming then as your own is bad, tacky and seriously, you'll have the entire vidding community on your back - and we're determined little creatures, you seriously don't want us on your back.

I'm not accusing anyone in particular here(well, yes I sort of am), but Clip theft is just as much of a thorn in a vidder's side as hotlinking is.

For more info on this, check out Fade to Black from the list of vidding ressources in the Links section.

You all have Katie to thank for what you're seeing right now. Oh, I did the layout...about six months ago. But she was the one to give me several kicks in the butt to put this online...and now it is!

I still have a few awards, pieces of art and fanfictions to put up, but the site's been cleaned a bit and a lot of stuff has been added in the art section, especially icons. About the new layout: Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly (or Kate/Jack from Lost, as you wish), lyrics from Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence'. Check the links section for art credits.

New vid! Well, two new vids, but one just hadn't been posted here, yet, for lack of a page to put it on. Two new Doctor Who vids, one to Stone Sour's 'Through Glass' (fresh from today!) and an award winning one to Audioslave's 'Be Yourself'.

People who asked me to become affiliates in the tagboard, I'll contact you as soon as I can, but for the moment, I'm swamped.
